Frequently Asked Questions
When should I arrive for the ceremony?
If you are not staying onsite with us as a member of the party, please plan to arrive by 3:30pm for the 4:00pm ceremony. Weather permitting, the ceremony will take place outdoors on the hilltop - and we will be offering hayrides to bring guests up the hill beginning at 3:30. (Golf cart transport also available.) Lemonade/seltzer/iced tea will be served at a welcome station from 3-4pm.
But what if it pours rain?
Shhhhhhh! The weather is going to be absolutely perfect. But in the purely theoretical event of rain, we have a lovely alternative ceremony location in the milking barn.
Will all guests be vaccinated?
Yes, to ensure a safe celebration we ask that all adult guests age 18+ confirm on their RSVP that they will be fully vaccinated by the wedding date. All venue staff and vendors are also fully vaccinated. The ceremony and events throughout the weekend will take place mask-free.
Is there a gift registry?
Ann and Patrick have already lived together for 8 years, so they don’t need any more stuff - just your fine company! (After COVID, the chance to celebrate with all of you together in one place is the best gift they could ask for!) If you would like to make a personalized contribution instead to the honeymoon, the fun farm festivities, or a cause close to Ann and Patrick’s hearts, click here.
Is there a shuttle?
Since guests will be staying in a range of lodging locations around the region, we will NOT run a traditional shuttle for guests staying offsite. However, we are working with A&D Taxi & Transport and are offering any guests staying offsite within one hour of our venue the option to reserve a cab to and from the wedding, with the roundtrip fare on us. If you would like to use this option, please fill out THIS FORM with your pickup details by September 20th.
(If you do NOT take advantage of this cab option, please ensure you have a designated driver confirmed.)
Is there a dress code?
We aren't too concerned with dress code - wear what makes you happy! Sensible shoes are recommended since the ceremony will be outdoors and there will be a bonfire with s'mores beginning at 9pm. (Plus, anyone who has seen Ann and Patrick as guests at a wedding know that we are ALL about the dance floor, so wear footwear ready to dance in!)
Can I bring my young child?
Absolutely! We love kids and our wedding is no exception. If you are comfortable having your kids there, we welcome them to attend. (Please include on your RSVP if any children will be coming as part of your household.)
Can I bring my dog?
Unfortunately, our venue does not permit guest dogs — since they have chickens, ducks, guinea fowl, cats, rabbits, and other farm residents who may not get along. However, you can enjoy the company of the resident Great Pyrenees farm dogs, Maggie and Duke!
And in case you were wondering…
Why doesn't Ann have an engagement ring, anyway?
Ann proposed to Patrick. While back in Gambier, Ohio for their 10-Year Kenyon College Reunion in 2019, Ann surprised Patrick on a bridge overlooking the river along the beautiful Kokosing Trail. Patrick was so surprised he ALMOST forgot to say yes. (Yes, Ann went down on one knee. No, she did not give HIM a ring either.)
Is Ann going to take Patrick’s last name?
No. Ann is her own person, and she would miss spelling out her name laboriously over the phone.
Is Patrick going to take Ann’s last name?
No. See above.
Why isn't Ann going to wear white?
Because blue is the best color. (And Ann's mom also got married in blue.)
Why won't you see Patrick waiting for Ann at the end of the aisle?
No one is giving Ann or Patrick away. (They have been together for 14 years already and lived together for 8, after all.) So they will be walking down the aisle together.
Who is responsible for creating those absolutely fabulous and adorable wedding invitations with the goat art?
Ann’s absolutely fabulous and adorable sister, Julie (who has extensive personal experience with goats).
